ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 14. Kazakhstan introduces a ban on the export of steel and iron semi-finished products and billets, Trend reports.
The Minister of Industry of Kazakhstan, Kanat Sharlapaev, has approved an order titled "On Certain Issues of Regulating the Export of Steel Billets," which limits their export.
Kazakhstan is introducing a ban on the export of iron and non-alloyed steel in ingots or other primary forms, as well as semi-finished products made of iron or non-alloyed steel (except for goods under tariff item 7203).
This measure is aimed at supporting domestic metallurgical enterprises in order to stimulate the production of higher value-added products and strengthen Kazakhstan's steel industry.
The restrictions will come into effect on December 1, 2024, and will remain in place for six months.
Earlier, Kazakhstan extended the ban on the export of liquefied petroleum gas, propane, and butane by road and rail transport for six months.
