ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 27. During a meeting of the North Kazakhstan regional administration, Danis Araslanov, Director of the "ZIKSTO" factory, spoke about the company's plans for development, Trend reports.

According to him, the factory is implementing a new investment project to build a workshop for the production of passenger cars and platform wagons. The new production building will feature modern robotic technology, which will enable versatility by allowing the production of components and parts for various models of rolling stock.

"The investment volume will amount to 24 billion tenge ($48 million), and the number of employees will be increased to 900. We plan to assemble 3,000 wagons annually. Currently, construction and installation work is underway, with launch scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year," said Danis Araslanov, the director of ZIKSTO.

The company is also looking to hit the ground running with the production of hopper cars, tank cars for hauling petroleum products, and car-carrying wagons.

In turn, the Governor of the North Kazakhstan Region, Gauyez Nurmukhambetov, underscored that the region has significant plans for the development of the rolling stock assembly enterprise. He noted that the implementation of this project would be an important step in the modernization of the rolling stock of railway transport across the country.

ZIKSTO is involved in the production of platform wagons, hopper wagons, and passenger cars. Currently, the factory employs 450 people. By the end of 2024, the factory is expected to produce goods worth 100 billion tenge ($200 million), with a 28 percent increase. The company plans to expand its order portfolio in the current year.
