ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 8. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, during the government meeting proposed to establish a network of inclusive and children's resorts across the country, as well as the National Center for training specialists in the field of inclusive and children's tourism, Trend reports.
In the course of the meeting, Prime Minister Bektenov emphasized
that the government would fully support this initiative.
"As part of the development of the Almaty mountain cluster, we must
ensure infrastructure for children's tourism, including for
children with special needs," Bektenov stated.
Murat Karatai, head of the Pioneer family resort, also spoke at
the meeting, discussing the development of inclusive children's
resorts and suggesting further growth in this area in
Kazakhstan.
He explained that the Pioneer family-inclusive resort, established
in 2015 in the Medeu district of Almaty, is based on one of
Kazakhstan’s oldest ski slopes.
"There could be even more family-run business cases like this in
Kazakhstan if the basic mountain infrastructure were supported by
the state, similar to the centuries-old approach in Alpine
countries. With its unique natural resources, Kazakhstan has the
potential to follow this path, making its mountains accessible and
safe for all children. Over 6,000 children have benefited from our
programs. We’ve trained more than 100 instructors and conducted
scientific research with the support of the World Bank. These
numbers are more than just statistics. They represent children who
have learned to speak, walk, and communicate. These are families
that have found hope," said Karatai.
Prime Minister Bektenov added that the development of children's
and family tourism is an important issue in Kazakhstan today. The
number of children with special educational needs continues to
rise, with over 300,000 such children in the country.
The Almaty mountain cluster could play a key role in scaling up the
model and developing new specialized resorts that cater to
families, children, safety, and social inclusion.
Today, a Government meeting is taking place in Kazakhstan under the leadership of Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, where the agenda includes the development and digitalization of the tourism industry.
