BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Incoming and outgoing transactions through remittance services have risen notably in Azerbaijan from January through April 2025, totaling 164.6 million manat ($96.8 million) via more than 336,600 remittance operations.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure represents an increase of 35,100 transactions, or 11.6 percent, compared to the same period last year, along with a rise of 22.3 million manat ($13.1 million), or 15.7 percent, in total funds transferred.
The mean value of incoming remittances during the specified
reporting interval was recorded at approximately 489 manat
($287.6), indicating a contraction of 17.2 manat ($10.1), or 3.6
percent, relative to the corresponding timeframe in early 2024.
Concurrently, the outflow of remittances from financial
institutions exhibited notable dynamics, totaling 48.3 million
manat ($28.4 million) across a substantial volume of 94,700
transactional operations. This denotes a contraction of 8,100
transactions, equating to a 7.9 percent decline, relative to the
analogous timeframe in 2024, whereas the aggregate capital
transferred experienced an augmentation of 4.2 million manat ($2.4
million), representing a 9.5 percent escalation.
Despite a marginal year-on-year contraction in the quantity of
outbound transactions, there was an uptick in the aggregate volume
of capital transferred. The mean disbursement per outbound
remittance escalated to surpass 510 manat ($299.9), signifying a
surge of 81.4 manat ($47.8), or 19 percent, in juxtaposition to the
January–April 2024 timeframe.
