ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 3. The total value of subsoil users' purchases in Kazakhstan's energy sector reached 1.1 trillion tenge ($2.3 billion) in the first quarter of 2025, Trend reports.
Of this amount, domestic purchases accounted for 680 billion tenge ($1.4 billion), representing 60.2 percent of the total procurement volume.
This marks a continued positive trend in domestic procurement activities compared to 2024, when the total procurement volume stood at 6.1 trillion tenge ($12.6 billion), with domestic purchases reaching 3.8 trillion tenge ($7.9 billion) or 61.9 percent.
The largest contributors to these procurement figures include major companies such as Tengizchevroil, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating, and NKOK, which together account for 62 percent of the total procurement volume. Samruk-Kazyna follows with a 23 percent share, while other subsoil users account for the remaining 15 percent.
