BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijanis spent 287.8 million manat ($169.3 million) on electronics, including computers, phones, and printers.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that
this metric experienced an uptick of 7.3 percent relative to the
corresponding timeframe from the previous year.
The proportion of trade turnover attributable to computers,
telecommunications apparatus, and printing products in the ultimate
outcome constituted 1.2 percent.
In aggregate, the retail sector in Azerbaijan transacted a
substantial 23.3 billion manat (equivalent to $13.7 billion),
encompassing a robust 13.1 billion manat ($7.7 billion) attributed
to consumables such as food, beverages, and tobacco, alongside a
noteworthy 10.3 billion manat ($6 billion) in non-consumable
merchandise throughout the initial quintet of months this fiscal
year.
In juxtaposition to the initial quintet of months in 2024, aggregate retail turnover experienced an uptick of 3.8 percent, characterized by a 1.6 percent increment in food-related transactions and a robust 6.5 percent expansion in non-food sales.
