ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 25. The Chairman of the Committee for Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gabidulla Ospankulov, and the Authorized Representative for CIS countries at the managing participants of the company "Knauf," Alexander Blumhardt, signed an investment contract, Trend reports via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The capital allocation initiative encompasses the establishment
of a state-of-the-art dry plaster mix manufacturing facility in the
Zhambyl region, leveraging indigenous raw material resources.
“The aggregate capital infusion is anticipated to culminate at
$30.5 million, accompanied by a yearly output capability of 225,000
tons.” The initiative is designed to catalyze the creation of 100
sustainable employment opportunities. Roughly 80 percent of the
production is projected to penetrate Kazakhstan’s internal market,
whereas the residual 20 percent is earmarked for exportation to
nations within the EAEU and Central Asia,” the ministry's
communiqué articulates.
In his discourse, Ospankulov pointed out that the inception of the
new facility represents a pivotal advancement in augmenting the
industrial capacity of the region.
“Projects of this scale, implemented with global leaders like ‘Knauf,’ are the result of systematic work to create an attractive and stable investment environment. We are confident that the launch of production will not only supply the domestic market with high-quality products but also enhance Kazakhstan's export potential,” he stressed.
In turn, Blumhardt thanked the Kazakh side for their support and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the project.
“We consider Kazakhstan as a priority direction for the development of our business in the region. The country has a powerful raw material base, a growing market, and high openness to investors. We are happy to continue expanding our presence in Kazakhstan and contribute to the development of the construction industry,” said the representative of Knauf.
Knauf has secured a license for the extraction of gypsum at the
Ulken-Burultau deposit located in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan,
boasting verified reserves amounting to 84 million tons, thereby
establishing a sustainable and robust raw material foundation for
its production activities. The initiation of the new facility's
development will transpire in a phased approach, commencing with
the mineral feedstock processing line subsequent to the completion
of all requisite evaluations and validations.
Knauf operates as a multinational entity engaged in the production
of innovative building materials and advanced construction systems,
established in 1932 in Germany. It is distinguished for its
premium-grade gypsum board solutions, thermal barrier composites,
and wallboard assemblies utilized in both domestic and industrial
