Iran exported an average of 23 million liters of oil products daily in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, through March 19, 2020), Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said, Trend reports citing the Shana news agency.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of the pipelines for the transportation of oil products.
The minister noted that however, the volume of Iran's oil products export amounted to daily 5.9 million liters 9 years ago.
Zanganeh added that Iran's crude oil refining capacity was 1.8 million barrels daily in 2012. This figure currently exceeds daily 2.2 million barrels.
“In addition, Iran's daily gasoline production was less than 50 million liters in 2012. At present, 107 million liters of gasoline are produced daily. At the same time, in 2012, the diesel production was 94 million liters per day, and this figure is 113 million liters at present,” he said.
As reported, three pipelines for transportation of oil products were put into operation in Iran today on February 22.
The Shazand-Qom-Ray pipeline can transport daily 300,000 barrels of oil products, the Nain-Kashan-Ray pipeline – daily 204,000 barrels, and the Tabriz-Khoy-Urmia pipeline – daily 65,000 barrels.
In total, 9.64 trillion rials (about $230 million) and 84.5 million euro was spent on the construction of these pipelines.
