Amount of loans issued in Iran’s housing, construction sectors revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Iranian banks lent 1.97 quadrillion rials (about $47 billion) in the housing and construction sectors of the country in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), Trend reports.

Data of Iran’s Central bank shows that the loans were allocated for various purposes in the housing and construction sectors:

- Construction work: 1.14 quadrillion rials (about $27.2 billion);

- Working capital: 709 trillion rials (about $16.9 billion);

- Development work: about 69.9 trillion rials (about $1.66 billion);

- Purchase of housing: around 45.6 trillion rials (about $1.08 billion);

- Purchase of personal assets: 4.82 trillion rials (about $115 million);

- Repair work: 2.19 trillion rials (about $52.2 million);

- Self-employment: 1.48 trillion rials (about $35.2 million).

In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 35.1 quadrillion rials (about $835 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 10 months of the current Iranian year.
