Remarks in parliament regarding the arrest of reformist leaders Mir Hussein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi are irrelevant, the Iranian parliamentary vice speaker said.
Reformist leaders have to distinguish their positions with the enemies of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, MP Mohammed Riza Bahonar was quoted as saying by the Ilna news agency.
According to the vice speaker, the internal opposition should not join foreign forces and the opposition overseas.
"The leader of the reformists must know that there is enough evidence of their wrongdoing already," Iran's Security Minister Heidar Muslih said.
Earlier, several members of the conservative camp collected signatures urging the arrest of Mousavi and Karroubi.
After the presidential elections in Iran June 12, the opposition refused to recognize the results of the voting, calling the elections rigged. Reformist candidates Mir Hussein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi reported extensive electoral fraud.
Observers say the protests after the elections were the largest since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Hundreds of political activists were arrested and dozens of civilians were killed.
