BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev and Boeing Vice President for International Operations and Policy Michael Schnabel discussed potential supplies of Boeing aircraft to Kyrgyz airlines in Samarkand on October 19, 2026.

According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting was held on the sidelines of the Central Asia-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the C5+1 format.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding Kyrgyz-US cooperation in civil aviation, including potential deliveries of Boeing aircraft to Kyrgyz airlines.

Particular attention was paid to developing competitive commercial proposals, financing terms with the possible involvement of the US Export-Import Bank, as well as the development of aircraft maintenance services and aviation infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the potential cooperation is being considered in the context of efforts to develop Kyrgyzstan’s aviation sector and expand air transport capacity. Fleet renewal, access to financing and the development of technical facilities could become important areas for further cooperation.

No details were provided regarding specific aircraft models, quantities, delivery timelines or the signing of contracts. At this stage, the discussions concern potential forms of cooperation.

The development of civil aviation is closely linked to Kyrgyzstan’s broader efforts to strengthen international transport connectivity and expand passenger and cargo services.
