ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 5. The first stage of construction of a modern fish processing complex specializing in the cultivation of up to 10,000 tons of trout and barramundi fish per year has been completed, Trend reports.
The total cost of the project is 67.3 billion tenge ($127.87 million). The project is being implemented by the company "Ospanova Development". Construction of the complex on a 35-hectare site began in 2021. In October 2023, the first test stocking was successfully carried out, releasing 25,000 trout and barramundi fry.
The complex includes technological, administrative, and engineering blocks. It features pools for holding incoming fish, filtration systems, incubation tanks, and workshops for producing live feed, including artemia and rotifers. With phased capacity increases, the complex will be able to produce up to 10,000 tons of fish per year.
To note, it is expected that the main markets for the products
will be Kazakhstan and the CIS countries.
“Ospanova Development” is a Kazakhstan company that is engaged in
freshwater and marine fish farming, processing, and canning of
fish. The number of employees is about 100 people. Main activities:
freshwater fishery; marine fishery; processing and canning of fish,
crustaceans, and mollusks.
