BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. The total value of agricultural production in Azerbaijan at actual prices amounted to 3.7 billion manat ($2.19 billion) from January through May 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee shows that 2.8 billion manat ($1.68 billion) of the total accounted for livestock products, while 867.2 million manat ($511.65 million) - crop production.
Compared to the same period last year, total agricultural output increased by 1.5 percent, including a one percent increase in livestock production and a 3.1 percent increase in crop production.
Spring planting of crops in the country has largely been completed. As of June 1, 2025, 369,800 hectares of spring crops had been sown. This includes 73,100 hectares of cereals and legumes (including 33,900 hectares of corn for grain), 44,800 hectares of potatoes, 59,300 hectares of vegetables, 17,300 hectares of melons, 100,600 hectares of cotton, 12,700 hectares of sunflowers for grain, 7,200 hectares of sugar beets, 2,500 hectares of tobacco, 47,800 hectares of perennial grasses, 3,800 hectares of annual grasses, and 700 hectares of other spring crops.
During the first five months of this year, Azerbaijan produced 233,600 tons of meat (including poultry), 916,500 tons of milk, 1.0112 billion eggs, 11,200 tons of wool, and 1.3 tons of raw silk. Compared to the same period in 2024, egg production increased by 2.8 percent, meat production increased by 1.2 percent, milk production increased by 0.2 percent, wool production decreased by 1.4 percent, and raw silk production dropped by 58.1 percent.
