ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 4. The share of the population with access to natural gas in Kazakhstan is expected to reach 63.8 percent in 2025, Alibек Zhamaуov, Chairman of state-owned gas company QazaqGaz, said during the “Future of Gas: Key to the Energy Transition” session at the XVI KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum, Trend reports.
According to Zhamaуov, around 292,700 people in 29 settlements will gain access to gas next year. The government has allocated 65.9 billion tenge ($120.2 million) from the republican budget for 45 gas supply projects, 31 of which are scheduled for completion in 2025. The Samruk-Kazyna fund is providing an additional 46.5 billion ($84.8 million) tenge for 55 projects.
Significant infrastructural undertakings are currently in
progress to guarantee seamless supply chains, encompassing the
finalization of the Taldykorgan–Usharal principal gas conduit,
appraised at 131.7 billion tenge ($240.3 million).
“These initiatives will enhance operational efficacy and
dependability within the sector, guarantee consistent supply for
residential and industrial consumers, and fortify Kazakhstan’s
energy resilience,” Zhamayov articulated.
He also indicated that hydrocarbon output in Kazakhstan is
projected to escalate from 59 billion cubic meters in 2024 to an
anticipated 74 billion cubic meters by the 2029–2030 timeframe.
