BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 20. Georgian railways transported 3.5 million tons of freight in the third quarter of 2025, down 1.4% from the same period last year, the country’s statistics office said, Trend reports.
Domestic shipments accounted for 9.5% of total freight, international cargo (excluding transit) 32.4%, and transit freight 58.1%.
Incoming freight made up 77.3% of total rail cargo, while outgoing shipments represented 22.7%.
Among incoming freight, Azerbaijan was the largest sender with 32% of total volume, followed by Russia at 29.1%. Other countries accounted for the remaining 38.9%.
