BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 3. In the first half of 2024, 1,000 environmentally friendly buses arrived in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.

This information was shared during a meeting held by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan to review the results of the first half of 2024.

It was noted that during the reporting period, minibusses were completely moved to the outskirts of the city. The arrival of the new buses eliminated the burning of over 100 tons of diesel fuel per day.

Moreover, the topic of gas supply in the country was discussed.

"Across Bishkek and the Chuy region, 52 new residential areas have been connected to the gas network, and boilers in 19,346 homes (74.7 percent) out of 25,883 subscribers in Bishkek have been connected to gas. In the Chuy region, 9,570 subscribers have been connected to gas. The gas supply of settlements has reduced coal consumption by 58,000 tons," the ministry's statement said.
