BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 27. More than $1 billion in investments were attracted to Bishkek in 2024, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev said during a meeting with the business community, Trend reports.
According to the mayor, the city continues to work on utilizing these investments, which include both domestic and foreign sources. Junushaliev expressed confidence that thanks to active dialogue with businesses, even more projects will be launched in the future.
During the meeting, investors presented several major projects, including:
-A new underground pedestrian crossing with escalators, elevators, service facilities, and a parking lot for over 220 cars;
-The construction of an eco-technological waste-to-energy plant;
-The reconstruction and modernization of wastewater treatment facilities;
-The development of the Royal Central Park multifunctional complex.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, as of April 1, 2025, the number of registered business entities in Bishkek totaled 165,853, including 100,196 legal entities and 65,657 individual entrepreneurs. The majority of legal entities are small enterprises, accounting for 95.1 percent, while medium-sized businesses represent 1.3 percent and large enterprises make up 0.9 percent.
