BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 4. The value of manufacturing production in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, totaled 17.187 billion soms ($196 million) from January through March 2025, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the sector’s physical volume increased by 8.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024. In March alone, manufacturing output amounted to 5.888 billion soms ($67 million), with the volume rising by 16.1 percent year-on-year.
The largest share of output came from the food industry (including beverages and tobacco), which accounted for 51.7 percent of total manufacturing in Bishkek. Textile, clothing, and leather production contributed 15.7 percent, followed by rubber, plastic, and other non-metallic mineral products at 14.0 percent.
Wood and paper products, along with printing activities, made up 6.8 percent of the total, while the production of basic metals and fabricated metal products (excluding machinery and equipment) accounted for 4.8 percent. Transport equipment and machinery repair contributed 2.6 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively.
Overall, the value of manufacturing production in Kyrgyzstan reached 115.289 billion soms (approximately $1.3 billion) from January through March 2025, marking a 21 percent increase in physical volume compared to the same period in 2024
