ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 22. Kazakhstan Kazakhstan Railways (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, KTZ) announces the volume of freight transportation for the first 19 days of November in the Kostanay branch (division), Trend reports.
According to the Kazakhstan Railways news agency, the Kostanay branch loaded 2,359 grain wagons during the first 19 days of November, with a total weight of 161,400 tons.
A significant portion of this volume was allocated for export and domestic transportation within Kazakhstan. Specifically, 755 wagons (51,500 tons) were loaded for domestic use, while 1,604 wagons (109,900 tons) were sent for export, including 1,038 wagons (71,300 tons) to Central Asian countries. During the reporting period, 13 grain shipping routes were organized.
In terms of milling products, 1,299 wagons (86,100 tons) were loaded during the same period. Of these, 303 wagons (20,100 tons) were dispatched within Kazakhstan, and 1,096 wagons (66,000 tons) were sent for export, including 971 wagons (64,300 tons) to Central Asian countries.
Additionally, 13,100 tons of grain were loaded into 434 containers, and milling products were loaded into 1,296 containers, totaling 40,000 tons. A total of 7 organized container routes for grain transportation and 21 for milling products were established.
Special attention is given to the formation of grain routes to Central Asia, China, and through the port of Aktau, which underscores the strategic focus on export transportation. According to KTZ, there are currently 8 main freight transportation divisions in Kazakhstan, each serving different regions of the country: Kostanay, Almaty, Aktobe, Shymkent, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, and Kyzylorda branches.These divisions are part of the structure of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and handle various types of freight transportation within Kazakhstan, as well as international shipments via transit routes.
