Kazakhstan rolls out five-year plan for tariffs on Kenkiyak-Kumkol pipeline

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 5. The joint company "Kazakhstan-China Pipeline" has rolled out fresh tariffs for moving oil to Kazakhstan's domestic market through the "Kenkiyak – Kumkol" main oil pipeline for the years 2025 to 2029, Trend reports.

The new tariffs were established in accordance with the order from the Department of the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the city of Almaty, concerning the "Kazakhstan-China Pipeline" (50 percent owned by KazTransOil and 50 percent owned by China National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Corporation) for the regulated service of oil transportation to the domestic market of Kazakhstan through the Kenkiyak – Kumkol main oil pipeline for 2025-2029.

In 2025, the tariff will be 3,338.49 tenge ($6.37) per ton per thousand kilometers (excluding VAT). In 2026, it will increase by 10.54 percent to 3,690.48 tenge ($7.04) per ton per thousand kilometers (excluding VAT). In 2027, it will rise by 0.07 percent to 3,693.05 tenge ($7.05) per ton per thousand kilometers (excluding VAT). In 2028, it will increase by 13.8 percent to 4,202.89 tenge ($8.02) per ton per thousand kilometers (excluding VAT). In 2029, it will decrease by 11.5 percent to 3,769.47 tenge ($7.19) per ton per thousand kilometers (excluding VAT).

To note, the "Kenkiyak - Kumkol" main oil pipeline is part of the "Kazakhstan - China" pipeline system and was built under the Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on the development of comprehensive cooperation in the oil and gas sector, signed on May 17, 2004. It was put into operation in 2009. The pipeline length is 794.2 km, with a design capacity of 10 million tons of oil per year.
