ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 9. Construction is off to the races on a container hub at Kazakhstan's Aktau port, aimed at boosting maritime transport, and this venture is set to ramp up its capacity to a whopping 240,000 TEUs (railroad equivalent) each year, as the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan announces, Trend reports.
"The construction of the container hub at Aktau port will strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the international logistics arena, increase container transportation along the Trans-Caspian route through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, and redirect some of the transit cargo coming from China to Europe," the statement notes.
Furthermore, strategic dredging initiatives are set to be
implemented at the port, aimed at optimizing terminal capacity and
driving operational efficiency for container logistics.
The Kazakh government is strategically positioning itself by
outlining transformative plans for multi-billion-dollar investments
in a range of innovative transport projects, with proactive efforts
currently in motion to engage and attract forward-thinking
investors.
