ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 27. In 2024, Kazakhstan's national atomic holding, Kazatomprom produced 23,270 tons of uranium, which is 10 percent more compared to 2023 (21,112 tons), Trend reports via Kazatomprom.
This information comes from an analysis of the company's operational results for the IV quarter of 2024, published on January 27, 2025.
Kazatomprom has announced that the volume of uranium production, in line with the company's share and that of its partners, saw a 10 percent increase in 2024, rising from 11,169 tons to 12,286 tons.
The group’s sales volume decreased by 8 percent in 2024, from 18,069 tons in 2023 to 16,670 tons. The average sale price of a pound of uranium produced by Kazatomprom and its subsidiaries rose by 27 percent, from $55.09 in 2023 to $69.72 in 2024.
"It is expected that in 2025, the percentage of reduced production at uranium mining enterprises compared to the levels set in subsoil use contracts will vary but will remain within the permissible deviation of 20 percent," the holding stated.
To note, in 2024, 21,112 tons of uranium ore were produced. In 2025, the company intends to produce up to 26,500 tons of uranium.
