BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Plenitude, a key player in the global renewable energy sector, has made significant strides in its operations, expanding its renewable energy capacity across several regions, Trend reports.
The company’s efforts are marked by the successful completion of new photovoltaic and storage projects, as well as strategic acquisitions and partnerships.
In January 2025, Plenitude successfully installed a 150 MW renewable facility at Caparacena in Granada, Spain. Additionally, two more photovoltaic projects, one in Renopool, Extremadura (250 MW) and another in Guillena, Andalusia, came online. These installations have helped Plenitude increase its total installed capacity in Spain to nearly 950 MW, strengthening the company's presence in the Spanish renewable energy market.
Plenitude also made notable advancements in the United States, with its subsidiary Eni New Energy US Inc. completing the construction of the Guajillo storage hub in Texas. The 200 MW facility is equipped with advanced lithium-ion LFP batteries, further enhancing the company's energy storage capabilities. In a strategic move, Plenitude signed an agreement in January to acquire a 49% equity stake in a portfolio of two operational photovoltaic plants and an electricity storage facility under construction in California. This acquisition, finalized in March 2025, bolsters Plenitude’s renewable energy footprint in North America.
The company’s growth is also supported by increased investment. In March 2025, Plenitude completed a transaction with the European Investment Partners (EIP), raising their stake in the company to 10%. This follows a capital increase of approximately €209 million, bringing EIP’s total investment in Plenitude to about €800 million.
On the development front, Plenitude kicked off construction in March on a new 90 MW solar power plant in Fortuna, Spain, located in the Region of Murcia. The facility is expected to produce over 185,000 MWh annually once operational.
Plenitude has also secured a significant long-term agreement in Italy, signing a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Autostrade per l’Italia. The agreement, which covers the sale of all output from a 16 MW wind farm in Basilicata, will deliver an estimated 390 GWh of electricity over the contract period.
