ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 1. The volume of oil transportation through trunk pipelines in 2024 increased by 1.0 percent and amounted to 70.3 million tons, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
"The increase is associated with the transshipment of oil from the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields towards the Atyrau-Samara pipeline and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium through the KazTransOil system, as well as with the growth in domestic transportation volumes towards oil refineries," the KazMunayGas report states.
Kazakhstan's pipeline infrastructure is owned by the national operator of trunk pipelines, KazTransOil (KTO), its two joint ventures (Kazakhstan-China Pipeline (KCP) and MunayTas), as well as the CPC. The existing pipeline infrastructure in the country has sufficient potential to increase oil transportation volumes from promising projects.
