BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Eni’s Plenitude reported a 10% increase in its installed wind capacity for 2024, with total operational wind assets reaching 1,187 megawatts (MW), up from 1,080 MW in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the producer, the increase was largely driven by international markets, with Spain adding 46 MW to bring its wind capacity to 246 MW, and the U.S. increasing its share by 47 MW to 58 MW - a near doubling of its previous total.
Kazakhstan, however, remained a consistent and important component of Plenitude’s wind operations. The country maintained its installed capacity at 96 MW, unchanged from 2023, representing approximately 8% of the company’s total wind portfolio. This stable presence in Kazakhstan reflects Plenitude’s long-term investment in Central Asia’s renewable sector, where the company sees opportunities for future scaling.
Italy, which represents the largest share of Plenitude’s wind capacity, showed little movement, adding just 7 MW to reach 721 MW - a modest 1% increase over the previous year.
Germany and the UK also made minor contributions, with Germany’s capacity holding steady at 57 MW and the UK adding 15 MW.
