ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 14. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has decided to extend the ban on the export of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by road and rail transport outside the country, Trend reports.
According to the information, the ban, initially introduced in November 2023, was set to expire on May 14, 2025. However, in order to ensure a stable supply of liquefied gas to the domestic market, its validity has been extended for another six months - until November 2025.
The restriction applies to liquefied petroleum gas, propane, and butane. It concerns the transportation of these products by road and rail.
Exemptions from the ban have been made for:
Subsoil users operating under production-sharing agreements with fixed tax stability provisions;
Goods produced from Kazakhstani raw materials extracted at the Karachaganak field and exported in accordance with international treaties;
Transit shipments that do not involve Kazakhstan as either the point of origin or destination.
The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will take effect on May 14, 2025.
