BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 28. A total of 5.8 billion manat ($3.4 billion) was allocated in Azerbaijan from last year's state budget for the implementation of measures in sectors under the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which is 416.7 million manat ($245 million) or 7.7 percent more compared to 2023, Trend reports.
The matter was encapsulated in the preliminary legislation “On
the execution of the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2024”,
deliberated during today’s assembly of the Parliamentary Committee
on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship.
Within the comprehensive framework for ecological stewardship
spanning 2024-2027, a quintet of strategic objectives has been
delineated, encompassing "biodiversity conservation, enhancement of
ichthyic resources, and aquaculture advancement", "soil
safeguarding, land utilization optimization, and cadastral
operations", alongside "mitigating contamination in ecologically
compromised zones".
In order to actualize these objectives, a fiscal allocation of
361.9 million manat (equivalent to $213 million) has been earmarked
from the 2024 state budget, encompassing six overarching programs,
eight subsidiary programs, and a total of 27 distinct activities.
This represents a growth trajectory of 3.3 million manat ($1.9
million), equating to a 0.9 percent uptick relative to the
antecedent timeframe.
