BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Iran’s exports of minerals and mining products increased by 4.94 percent in value and 30.7 percent in volume during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Trend reports.
Over the course of nine months, Iran exported around 46.8 million tons of minerals and mining products worth approximately $9.77 billion, as stated in the data from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Meanwhile, in the same period of the previous Iranian year, Iran’s total mining exports stood at nearly 35.8 million tons, worth $9.3 billion.
Iran exported mainly steel, copper, aluminum, iron ore, lead, zinc, and other mining products in nine months.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from IRICA shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
