BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 20. A total of 39.48 billion som (circa $468 million) is expected be allocated in the transport sector of Kyrgyzstan from 2025 through 2029, Trend reports via the nation's Ministry of Finance.
The ministry said that the internal funding will account for 4.97 billion som (almost $59 million).
Government investment projects will include extensive earthwork, the installation of reinforced concrete pipes and bridges, and the laying of a two-layer asphalt concrete pavement covering about 272.5 km.
Additionally, during the above period, the purchase of 120 electric buses and 100 gas-powered buses measuring 12.5 meters in length, as well as the installation of necessary charging infrastructure, are planned.
The following projects are scheduled for implementation:
- The "Reconstruction of the Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz Road, Phase IV" project on the section from km 104.6 to 197.5. This 92.9 km section, entirely within the Talas region, extends up to the state border with Kazakhstan (Kichi-Kapka checkpoint).
- The project for improving the Issyk-Kul Ring Road (Barsoom - Karakol section, 75.2 km in length)
- The project for improving the Issyk-Kul Ring Road (Balbai Baatyr – Karakol section).
