BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. Azerbaijan refunded 20.0163 million manats (about $11.77 million) in value-added tax (VAT) to individuals who purchased residential and non-residential property through cashless transactions in January-July 2026.
The State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy said the VAT refund program for property purchases continues to be successfully implemented.
“During January-July 2026, the amount of VAT refunded by authorized banks on cashless purchases of residential and non-residential property amounted to 20.0163 million manats (about $11.77 million),” the statement said.
Overall, 11.4741 billion manats (about $6.75 billion) in taxes were collected for Azerbaijan's state budget through the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy in January-July 2026, exceeding the forecast by 848.1 million manats (about $499 million).
Tax revenues increased by 913.3 million manats (about $537.2 million), or approximately 8.6%, compared with the same period in 2025.
Tax revenues from the non-oil and gas sector amounted to 8.4888 billion manats (about $4.99 billion), with an additional 251.8 million manats (about $148.1 million) collected above the forecast. Compared with the same period in 2025, tax revenues from the sector increased by 898.4 million manats (about $528.5 million), or 11.8%.
Mandatory state social insurance contributions amounted to 4.0373 billion manats (about $2.37 billion) in January-July 2026, exceeding the forecast by 229.4 million manats (about $134.9 million). Contributions from non-budget organizations exceeded 2.6872 billion manats (about $1.58 billion).
During the same period, unemployment insurance contributions amounted to 143.5 million manats (about $84.4 million), exceeding the forecast by 6.8 million manats (about $4 million). Contributions from non-budget organizations amounted to nearly 110.2 million manats (about $64.8 million).
Mandatory health insurance contributions amounted to nearly 606.8 million manats (about $356.9 million), exceeding the forecast by 15.6 million manats (about $9.2 million). Contributions from non-budget organizations amounted to nearly 402.4 million manats (about $236.7 million).
