BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 27. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan has listed key agricultural exports from January through August 2024, Trend reports.
During this period, the country exported a total of 44,382 tons of potatoes. The largest volumes were shipped to Uzbekistan (25,865 tons), followed by Kazakhstan (12,844 tons), Russia (5,649 tons), and Azerbaijan (24.1 tons).
Nut exports reached 43,782 tons, with different types of nuts exported primarily to Russia (26,633 tons), Türkiye (26,633 tons), and Georgia (444 tons).
Fruit exports totaled 77,315 tons, including apricots sent to Russia (16,300 tons), Kazakhstan (5,120 tons), and Belarus (105 tons). Additionally, 6,187 tons of apples were exported to Kazakhstan, 4,240 tons to Russia, and 16 tons to Mongolia.
Dried fruits were also a significant export, totaling 16,482 tons, with 13,741 tons sent to Russia and 383 tons to Türkiye
Furthermore, the export of seedlings amounted to 11,082,321 units during the same period.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 750,900 tons, 36.1 million units, and 55,900 cubic meters of quarantine products from January through August 2024. Compared to the same period last year, imports increased across all categories: by 22.3 percent in tons, 98.9 percent in units, and 102.4 percent in cubic meters.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan exported 397,300 tons, 11.4 million units, and 1,679 cubic meters of quarantine products. However, exports in tons decreased by 17.8 percent, or 86,000 tons. In contrast, exports in units rose by 7 million (an increase of 158.6 percent), while exports in cubic meters increased by 13 cubic meters (or 0.7 percent).
