BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 17. Kyrgyzstan plans to complete construction and reconstruction work on five reservoirs in 2025, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan.
Consequently, the hydrological accessibility will be enhanced
across a spatial expanse of 8,129 hectares, with the establishment
of 5,995 hectares of novel irrigated terrain.
At present, the execution of construction and rehabilitation
initiatives is in progress across seven reservoirs, collectively
boasting a total volumetric capacity of 40.628 million cubic
meters. The projects include:
- Reconstruction of the reservoir in the Kemin district of Chuy region
- Development of new irrigated land near a reservoir in the Moskva district of Chuy region
- Construction of an irrigation dam on the Tugol-Sai River in Jumgal district
- Construction of an irrigation dam in Kochkor district of Naryn region
- Construction of an irrigation dam in the village of Uch-Korgon, Kun-Chygysh rural area, Tong district, Issyk-Kul region
- Construction of an irrigation dam in Tong district, Issyk-Kul region
- Construction of an irrigation dam in Ala-Buka district, Jalal-Abad region
These initiatives are designed to optimize agronomic yield and augment hydrological governance within the nation.
