DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 27. Kuwait's Nabeel Abdul-Raheem Consultants (NARCO) company will conduct investigations on international highways in Tajikistan, spanning from Dushanbe to the borders of China and Kyrgyzstan, with the aim of installing safety barriers at dangerous sections, Trend reports.
The respective agreement was signed by Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim, and the authorized representative of the Kuwaiti company, Ahmad Mahrus Ahmad Muhammad Aysh.
This initiative is part of the fourth phase of the "Improvement of Regional Communication Routes in Central Asia" project. Kuwait’s company will conduct research on the hazardous sections of international and national roads, where road safety needs to be enhanced in line with international standards.
Through the development of a well-founded project, detailed engineering assessments, and tender documentation, the construction of high-quality safety barriers will be ensured at specific road sections.
Additionally, NARCO will also provide consulting services for construction supervision and the improvement of protective grids' designs.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, the roads to be surveyed include the routes from Dushanbe to Khorog, up to the Kulma pass on the Chinese border, and from Vahdat (near Dushanbe) to Lakhsh, on the border with Kyrgyzstan.
