DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 31. Tajikistan is set to establish a National Subsoil Center, Sherali Kabir, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies, said at the first International Investment Mining and Metallurgy Forum in Dushanbe, Trend reports.
The center aims to enhance transparency and attract investment in the mining sector. Kabir highlighted that Tajikistan is rich in significant reserves of copper, aluminum, lithium, graphite, nickel, and rare earth metals. In light of the increasing demand for non-ferrous metals for green technologies, the country seeks to strengthen its position in the global market.
The minister also emphasized that Central Asia holds approximately 38.6 percent of the world's manganese reserves, with Tajikistan accounting for around 270 million tons of this resource along with 20 percent of lead and 5.8 percent of zinc.
Additionally, Kabir noted that Tajikistan has 28 registered gold deposits, some of which are currently being developed. He specified that four gold-bearing belts and 18 promising areas have been identified, alongside significant reserves of various minerals, including 1.8 million tons of lead, 4.7 million tons of zinc, and over 100,000 tons of silver.
As a result of the International Investment Mining and Metallurgy Forum in Dushanbe, partnership memoranda for collaboration and project implementation are expected to be signed, which will help attract direct investments into Tajikistan's mining industry.
