TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 22. Sister-city agreements between Lachin and Bukhara, as well as Khankendi and Urgench, will be signed as part of the fourth Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Regional Forum, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said at the forum in Tashkent, Trend's special correspondent reports.
According to Jabbarov, numerous agreements have been signed in recent years on various platforms, including sister-city and cooperation agreements between cities of the two countries, along with a number of business projects being implemented directly in the regions.
“Today, we will witness our relations reaching a new level through cooperation between the cities of Lachin and Bukhara, and Khankendi and Urgench. The relevant sister-city agreements will be signed today,” Jabbarov said.
He highlighted the particular significance of Lachin and Khankendi for Azerbaijan, noting that both cities were liberated from years of occupation.
“Lachin and Khankendi are of particular importance to Azerbaijan, as both cities were liberated from years of occupation,” the minister emphasized.
The fourth Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Regional Forum focuses on expanding interregional economic cooperation and implementing joint investment and trade projects. The forum is being held in Tashkent and aims to further develop direct ties between the regions of the two countries and expand cooperation in investment, industry and trade.
