TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 25. Indian Jakson Green Private Limited has secured a loan of 2.96 billion rupees ($35.3 million) for its upcoming solar photovoltaic and battery storage project in Uzbekistan, Trend reports.
According to the company, the project includes the construction and operation of a 250 MW solar power plant coupled with an integrated battery energy storage system of 63 MW/126MWh.
Jakson Green Private Limited received the loan from First Abu Dhabi Bank (Mumbai).
Meanwhile, German Hyper Partners will build a photovoltaic power plant in Uzbekistan's Namangan region.
It is planned to attract $350 million in investments to create a solar farm with a capacity of 500 MW. The plant will be constructed on a 1,200-hectare plot of land.
At the same time, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing $229.4 million for the development, design, construction, and operation of a 500 MWh battery energy storage system in Uzbekistan.
The funds are also granted for constructing and operating a 200 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent.
