BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 27. The Bileh Savar border terminal in Ardabil Province, northwestern Iran, exported 43 percent more non-oil products in the second month of the current Iranian year (March 20–May 20, 2024) than in the same period last year, Director General of Iran's Ardabil Province Road and Transportation Department, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports.
He said the Bileh Savar border terminal exported 130,000 tons of non-oil products in two months. The products were hauled by 6,000 trucks.
Vosughi noted that the exported non-oil products are mainly ceramics, glass, potatoes, building materials, salt, and profiles.
The official stated that 5,320 tons of products were imported through the Bileh Savar border terminal during the 2-month. Import of products increased by 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
He added that about 175,000 tons of products have been transported through the Bileh Savar border terminal during 2 months.
Additionally, it should be noted that Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, in the first month of the current Iranian year, Iran's non-oil exports amounted to 9.7 million tons worth $3.17 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 16.9 percent in value terms and 9.66 percent in weight terms in the first month compared to the same month last year.
