BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. A total of 6.18 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded from the ports of Western Hormozgan Province located in southern Iran during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024), the Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, a total of 3 million tons of non-oil products and 3.18 million tons of oil and petroleum products were shipped to the ports in Western Hormozgan Province during the six months.
Salari noted that 3 million tons of oil and non-oil products were exported from ports in the west of Hormuzgan Province during the six months. Of the exported products, 1.45 million tons were non-oil products, and 1.55 million tons were oil and oil products.
The official stated that 2.46 million tons of oil and non-oil products were cabotaged in the western ports of the Hormozgan Province.
He added that 47,000 TEU containers were exported from the western ports of Hormozgan Province and 95,500 TEU containers were imported.
To note, a total of ten ports are operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan Province. Among these ports, Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan ports are the most active.
