BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. The export of non-oil products through Bileh Savar border terminal in Ardabil Province in the northwestern of the country has increased by 50 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), Director General of the Road and Transportation Department of Iran's Ardabil Province Kalimollah Vosughi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, about 375,000 tons of oil products were exported via the Bileh Savar border terminal during the six months. However, about 250,000 tons of non-oil products were exported through the Bileh Savar border terminal during the same period last year.
Vosughi added that mainly fruits and vegetables, salt, various types of glass, fittings, construction materials, and more were exported through the Bileh Savar border terminal. The products were transported by 16,782 trucks.
The official noted that about 17,900 tons of products were imported via Bileh Savar customs during the six months. The import of products increased by 39 percent compared to the same period last year.
Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
To note, Iran exported 70 million tons of non-oil products worth $25.8 billion during the six months. Exports of products increased by 6.5 percent in value and 3.5 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
