BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. The Central Bank of Iran has allocated about $56.7 billion for imports of various products from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2024) to the present (January 25, 2025), Trend reports via Iran's Center for Exchange of Currency & Gold.
According to the information, the Central Bank of Iran has allocated $11.7 billion for the import of essential goods and pharmaceuticals. Of these, $9.19 billion was allotted for necessities and agricultural products, and $2.53 billion for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
In addition, the information indicates that the Central Bank of Iran allocated $43.8 billion for the import of commercial products and $1.12 billion for services.
To note, Iran imported $56 billion worth of products during the ten months (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025). The product imports increased by 3 percent compared to the same period last year. During the mentioned period, Iran imported gold bars worth $6.2 billion.
