BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Iran's exports to Iraq through Khuzestan Province customs located in southwestern of country during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) have increased 158 percent in value and 53 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Behrooz Gharabaghi, the head of Khuzestan Province customs, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to Gharabaghi, a total of $2.51 billion worth of goods, amounting to 9.55 million tons, were exported to Iraq during the 11 months.
He mentioned that goods such as natural gas, propane, polyethylene, steel ingots, and other products were exported to Iraq.
The official also emphasized that Khuzestan province's customs revenue reached 178 trillion rials (about $307 million) during the mentioned period.
Iran's Khuzestan province boasts two land border customs houses and seven commercial ports and is considered the country's second province for exporting products.
