BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 24. Turkish maritime terminals processed an impressive throughput of more than 66.58 million metric tons of petroleum derivatives during the timeframe spanning January through November 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure shows that four million tons of petroleum products were transported by vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 62.45 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries during the mentioned period.
Notable, 546,352 tons of the products were transited through the ports.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 32.4 million tons of cargo in November 2024.
During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.4 million tons.
Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30 million tons.
In addition, a total of 5.9 million tons of transit cargo was transported from Turkish ports in November 2024.
Türkiye's ports handled 363.8 million tons of cargo in the period from January through November 2024.
The cargo intake by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 27.5 million tons. Meanwhile, by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 336.3 million tons.
As many as 63.5 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in the period from January through November 2024.
Türkiye's ports welcomed 4,373 vessels in November of this year.
During this period, the number of vessels accepted at Turkish ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 2,966, while the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,407.
Moreover, during the period spanning January through November 2024, Turkish maritime facilities accommodated a total of 56,086 vessels.
During this time, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries admitted by Turkish ports amounted to 36,550, and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 19,536.
