BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 25. Turkish maritime terminals processed an impressive throughput of more than 8.88 million tons of chemical products during the timeframe spanning January through November 2024.
Data obtained by Trend from the Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure shows that 1.2 million tons of chemical products were transported by vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 7.68 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries during the mentioned period.
Additionally, during the first 11 months of this year, the ports handled 352 tons of the products.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 32.4 million tons of cargo in November 2024.
During this period, cargo traffic from Turkish-flagged vessels to domestic ports amounted to 2.4 million tons.
Cargo traffic from vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30 million tons.
Additionally, Turkish ports transported 5.9 million tons of transit cargo in November 2024.
Türkiye's ports handled 363.8 million tons of cargo in the period from January through November 2024.
The cargo intake by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 27.5 million tons. Meanwhile, by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 336.3 million tons.
From January through November 2024, the ports of Türkiye transported up to 63.5 million tons of transit cargo.
Türkiye's ports welcomed 4,373 vessels in November of this year.
During this period, the number of vessels accepted at Turkish ports under the flags of other countries amounted to 2,966, while the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,407.
Moreover, during the period spanning January through November 2024, Turkish maritime facilities accommodated a total of 56,086 vessels.
During this time, the number of vessels under the flags of other countries admitted by Turkish ports amounted to 36,550, and the number of vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 19,536.
