ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 14. Kazakhstani fund "Samruk-Kazyna" plans to liquidate one of its subsidiaries as part of its optimization efforts, said the Chairman of the Board of the Fund, Nurlan Zhakupov, during the meeting of the Public Council of the Fund, Trend reports.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund Nurlan Zhakupov stated that within the framework of the task to reduce state participation in the economy, it was decided to optimize the structure of the Fund and to submit for consideration of the Board of Directors of the Fund the issue of liquidation of the subsidiary company - Samruk-Kazyna Business Service LLP.

“The Fund continues to work on improving the efficiency and increasing the value of the Fund’s group assets, as well as getting rid of non-core assets,” underscored Zhakupov.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Foundation's management, members of the Public Council, experts, and public figures.

The Fund’s average annual revenue growth from 2021 through 2024 was 13 percent. In 2024, 1.3 trillion tenge (approximately $2.7 billion) was paid to the state, and this is six times more than the dividends received from portfolio companies.

The Public Council of Samruk-Kazyna is an advisory and supervisory body established to represent the interests of civil society and consider public opinion when discussing and making decisions, as well as to increase accountability and transparency in the activities of the Fund and the national companies within the Fund’s group.

Samruk-Kazyna is a sovereign wealth fund and a major investment vehicle of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It plays a significant role in managing and overseeing the assets of the Kazakh government. The fund is involved in a wide range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, transportation, and manufacturing
