BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. More than 4 million tons of products worth about $1.73 billion have been exported from Iran's Pars Energy Special Economic Zone during 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 2024), director general of the customs department operating in Iran's Pars Energy Special Economic Zone Jafar Vanda said, Trend reports.
According to him, within 2 months, products were mainly exported from this zone to China, the UAE, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Türkiye, South Africa, Kuwait, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka.
The official stated that 974 tons of products worth about $1.5 million were imported to the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone during the two months.
Vanda noted that 82,000 tons of products worth $7.6 million were transported through the zone during the 2 months.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports amounted to 23.5 million tons worth $8 billion in the 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024). Iran's non-oil exports increased by 3.8 percent in value and 8.5 percent in weight over the past two months compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023).
