BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. Non-oil exports through customs in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province have surged by 9 percent in both value and weight during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024), Hossein Saeedi, the inspector of provincial customs, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to Saeedi, Iran exported non-oil products worth over $1.7 billion and weighing nearly 8 million tons through these customs posts.
Saeedi also noted that imports during the same period amounted to around $2.4 billion in value and around 1 million tons in volume. He added that the main imported goods included rice, wheat, tires, red meat, and other basic commodities.
Moreover, the report from Iran's Customs Administration reveals that Iran's total non-oil exports during the first two months of the current year amounted to $8.24 billion in value and 24.6 million tons in weight. While the value of non-oil exports slightly decreased by 0.11 percent compared to last year, the weight of exports saw a notable increase of 4.4 percent.
Meanwhile, Iran’s overall non-oil imports during this period totaled $8.47 billion in value and 5.92 million tons in weight. Compared to the same period last year, the value of non-oil imports decreased by 7.8 percent, while the weight increased by 1.16 percent.
