ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 5. Turkish investors are enhancing economic cooperation with Kazakhstan by investing in large projects in the country, Trend reports.
In Istanbul, Gabidulla Ospankulov, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, met with representatives of prominent Turkish companies with the assistance of Kazakh Invest, the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Türkiye.
During a meeting with S Sistem Lojistik, the parties discussed the progress of the joint project with Kazpost on the construction and management of a logistics center in the Aktobe region. The initial investment will amount to $25 million. A roadmap for the project has been signed, and the company is conducting land works on a 10-hectare plot.
In talks with Orzax, a project with an investment volume of $40 million to establish production of biological supplements in Almaty, creating 300 new jobs, was discussed.
At a meeting with Iskefe Holding, Gabidulla Ospankulov was briefed on the progress of a project to organize gelatin production in the industrial zone of Almaty. The project cost is $40 million, with 105 new jobs being created. The planned production capacity is 7,000 tons of gelatin per year.
A meeting also took place with representatives of LC Waikiki, where they discussed the progress of the construction of a logistics hub in the Almaty region, costing $12 million. The new hub will distribute products to all the company's branches in Central Asian countries.
In negotiations with Roz Metal, the parties discussed the progress of a project for the production of aluminum and copper billets and profiles in Shymkent. The company has already begun construction and installation works.
During the meetings, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan emphasized that Türkiye is one of the strategically important and largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan's economy.
The volume of gross direct investments from Türkiye into Kazakhstan in 2023 amounted to $434 million, which is a 14.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($380.1 million).
