The laying of rail tracks for the Ardabil-Miyaneh railroad will commence in Iran’s north-western Ardabil province on February 1, governor of Ardabil county of Ardabil province Massoud Emami Yeganeh said.
“The modernization of the Ardabil-Miyaneh railroad is one of the key projects,” Yeganeh added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
“The work on this railway project was accelerated after the allocation of funds, and the railway is predicted to be put into operation by March 21, 2021,” the governor said.
The construction of the Ardabil-Miyaneh railway with length of about 175 kilometers was launched in 2005. As reported, 62 tunnels with total length of 23.8 kilometers, a 4-kilometer bridge over a gorge and a 3-kilometer bridge over a water body will be constructed as part of the railway project. As of Feb. 4, 90 kilometers of the railroad have been laid. The Ardabil-Miyaneh railway is expected to be commissioned by March 21, 2022.
Touching on the projects to be implemented in Ardabil province, Yeganeh said that 130 landscaping, economic and industrial projects worth 5 trillion rials (about $119 million) will be launched on February 1-11 (the anniversary of the revolution in Iran).
“Some 72 projects were either under implementation or operational during Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's visit to Ardabil province,” the governor said.
"Twenty-five projects related to road construction, tourism, infrastructure and airport development worth 6.8 trillion rials (about $163 million) were implemented," the governor added.
“Twenty-four investment and economic projects worth 17.2 trillion rials (about $409 million) were implemented and 1,389 people were employed,” Yeganeh said. “The implementation of eight economic projects worth 12.3 trillion rials (about $294 million) was launched. After these projects are completed, 2,952 people will be employed.”
