BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 27. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a law on agreements with Kazakhstan concerning resorts and land in the Issyk-Kul region, Trend reports.
The agreements refer to two protocols signed by both countries in December 2024 in Bishkek. The first protocol regulates the rights of Kazakhstan to resort facilities in the region, while the second concerns the lease of land plots in the Issyk-Kul district.
According to publicly available information, the likely objects involved are:
The "Kazakhstan" sanatorium (Cholpon-Ata, 16.85 hectares);
The "University" sports and recreation camp (Bosteri village, 17 hectares);
The "Samal" holiday home (Bosteri village, 9.2 hectares);
The "Olymp" sports and recreation center (Korumdu village, 13.7 hectares).
The protocol on leasing land plots in the Issyk-Kul district covers:
34.2 hectares of land in the Toru-Aygyr — Tamchi rural area (for the construction of tourist and cultural facilities).
The law will come into effect ten days after its official
publication on May 27.
Previously, these agreements were approved by the Jogorku Kenesh
(the Kyrgyz Parliament). Now, the Kyrgyz side has officially
ratified these documents.
