Iran’s financial sector experiences major boost in foreign asset holdings
Iran’s Central Bank significantly increased its foreign assets over the past year, reaching nearly $60 billion — up more than 65 percent from the previous year. Total foreign assets held by the country’s banks and financial institutions also more than doubled, surpassing $160 billion.
